Évaluation des nouveaux modèles d'activation de la stimulation électrique fonctionnelle (FES) avec un ergomètre à vélo

Objective : By evoking contractions in paralyzed muscles, functional electrical stimulation (FES) cycling provides health benefits of exercise to persons with spinal cord injury (SCI). However, two of the main reasons why FES cycling has not gained widespread application are rapid muscle fatigue and low output power. The aim of this work is to develop a platform and design the experimental protocol for assessing muscle fatigue and power output produced while cycling by stimulating paralyzed muscles with novel stimulation patterns in participants with SCI.
